Job summary

A manufacturing recruitment firm is seeking a skilled CNC Turner in Southampton. You will set up and operate CNC lathes, ensuring precision in component manufacturing. Ideal candidates have experience in CNC machining and can read engineering drawings. This contract role offers an hourly rate of £17.00-£18.60, with operational hours from Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• Skilled in the use of precision measuring tools such as micrometres, callipers, and gauges.
• Able to follow and understand Engineering Drawings.

Job Title: CNC Turner

Location: Southampton

Job type: Contract until end of June 2026

Hourly Rate: £17.00- £18.60

Hours: Monday - Thursday 07:30 - 16:15, Friday – 7:30 – 11:30.

Are you a skilled CNC Turner? Your next big opportunity is here! We are looking for a CNC Turner who is hardworking with great attention to detail within the manufacturing industry.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC lathes to manufacture precision components.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints to produce parts to specified tolerances.
• Select and set up appropriate tools, fixtures, and materials for each job.
• Perform machine setups and tool changes efficiently, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Measure and inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometres, gauges) to ensure they meet specifications.
• Conduct regular in-process checks to ensure components maintain dimensional accuracy.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a CNC Turner or similar role in precision machining.
• Experienced working in Aerospace (not essential)
• Skilled in the use of precision measuring tools such as micrometres, callipers, and gauges.
• Able to follow and understand Engineering Drawings
• Great attention to detail
