Job summary

A precision engineering firm in Redhill is seeking a skilled CNC Setter & Operator. You will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC milling machines, ensuring that high-precision components meet quality standards while adhering to safety regulations. The ideal candidate should be apprentice trained or time-served with experience in CNC machining, particularly with FANUC, HAAS, Heidenhain, or Mazatrol controlled machines.

Qualifications

Job description
The Role

As a CNC Setter & Operator (Mills), you will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC milling machines to produce high-precision components. You will ensure quality standards are met while maintaining efficiency and adhering to company procedures.

Key Duties
  • Set and operate CNC milling machines to produce components to required tolerances.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and engineering specifications.
  • Adjust machine settings, tooling, and offsets to optimize production.
  • Monitor machining processes and inspect finished parts for accuracy and quality.
  • Maintain and organise tooling, ensuring everything is in good working order.
  • Report any production issues, tooling wear, or drawing discrepancies to the supervisor.
  • Ensure targets are met or improved upon where set by management.
  • Maintain compliance with company health and safety regulations.
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives and problem-solving within the workshop.
  • Attend training sessions as required to enhance skills and knowledge.
The Candidate

Apprentice trained or time-served engineer with NVQ / HNC / HND in Mechanical Engineering or relevant discipline.

Previous experience in CNC machining, ideally within a precision engineering environment.

Skilled in setting and operating FANUC, HAAS, Heidenhain, or Mazatrol controlled CNC mills.
