Job Title

CNC Miller Programmer – 5 Axis

Job Type: Permanent, Days-Based
Location: Pitstone, Buckinghamshire
Hours: Monday to Thursday, 40 Hours/Week
Pay: £20.00 – £22.00 per hour (DOE)

A specialist precision engineering business based in Pitstone is currently seeking an experienced CNC Miller Programmer to join their skilled team. This is a permanent, days-based position working a four-day week (Mon–Thurs), offering an excellent work‑life balance, overtime opportunities, and exposure to cutting‑edge technology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Programming, setting, and operating 5‑axis Matsuura CNC mills, including the world’s first Matsuura MX520T.
  • Creating efficient and accurate CNC programs using Hypermill CAD/CAM software.
  • Producing high‑precision components for a range of industries, ensuring quality and consistency.
  • Working independently from engineering drawings and 3D models.
  • Collaborating with a small, expert team to meet tight tolerances and deadlines.
Ideal Candidate
  • Proven experience programming and operating 5‑axis CNC milling machines, ideally Matsuura.
  • Proficient with Hypermill or similar CAM systems.
  • Strong understanding of precision machining and tight tolerance work.
  • Able to interpret complex engineering drawings and CAD files.
  • Self‑motivated with a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
Benefits
  • Competitive hourly rate of £20–£22ph, depending on experience.
  • 4‑day working week (Mon–Thurs – 3‑day weekend).
  • 1.5x Overtime available on Fridays and Saturdays.
