CNC Setter Programmer – Precision Engineering

Rotherham | £15 - £19 per hour + shift allowance

We are a leading global engineering business based in Rotherham, looking for an experienced professional to join our high‑volume CNC production team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with cutting‑edge machinery, including 5‑axis milling machines and large vertical lathes, producing high‑end, low‑volume components for a range of industries.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Programming, setting, and operating CNC machines (Fanuc and Heidenheim systems).
  • Performing safety checks and quality inspections using CMM measurement systems.
  • Working from technical drawings and manufacturing orders to produce precision components.
  • Ensuring parts meet tight tolerances and deadlines.
  • Supporting continuous improvement and maintaining high standards in a clean, well‑organised environment.
Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience with Fanuc and Heidenhain CNC systems.
  • Strong understanding of tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Experience with 5‑axis milling (Haas) and manual turning operations.
  • Confidence working with large machines – including both legacy and brand‑new equipment.
  • Comfortable with low‑volume, high‑end production and one‑off pieces.
Qualifications
  • Apprenticeship‑trained or minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in high‑volume manufacturing.
  • Strong IT skills and CNC programming knowledge.
  • Excellent communication, attention to detail, and time management.
