Position:

We are looking for a CNC Operator (Milling), conversant with Fanuc controls, who can demonstrate a clear understanding of engineering drawings and machining symbols, having the ability to:

  • Set, operate and program CNC milling machines efficiently producing products to drawings and specification.
  • Plan your own production schedules to produce parts as required by the Production Manager.
  • Positioning parts into jigs and fixtures prior to machining
  • Performs first piece dimensional inspections as well as all subsequent inspections as required by C&G quality standards.
  • Set up and run new programs
  • Change CNC tool offsets.
  • Perform minor preventive maintenance and housekeeping responsibilities, making sure the machine is set and left in a safe condition.
  • To have a positive and flexible approach to working and good engineering practice.
  • To maintain and improve productivity within machine capability to ensure production deadlines are met
  • Once trained, load and unload material manually or with fork lift, depending on weight and size.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • A competent machinist either qualified to NVQ Level 3 in Engineering or has suitable relevant experience .
  • Safety, quality, qccuracy, timeliness, reliability and thoroughness of work performed.
  • Understands health and safety on the shop floor.
  • Develops good working relationships with the other employees.
  • Has a good working knowledge of the production environment and has ability to respond to change.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £30,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
