Job summary

A recruitment agency is looking for an experienced CNC Laser Operator based in West Yorkshire. The role involves setting up and operating a Bystronic Press Brake, reading and interpreting engineering drawings, and carrying out quality checks. Essential skills include a Level 2 Engineering qualification, at least 4 years of Press Brake experience, and proficiency in writing CNC programs. I am working with my client based in West Yorkshire who is seeking an experienced Press Brake Operator to produce high-quality sheet metal components within their fabrication team.

Key Responsibilities of a CNC Laser
  • Set up and operate a Bystronic Press Brake
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Download or create CNC folding programs
  • Carry out quality checks and correct non-conforming parts
  • Safely move and handle large fabrications using lifting equipment
  • Maintain machine, tooling area, and general housekeeping
  • Meet production schedules and follow all safety procedures
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Level 2 Engineering qualification (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 4 years’ Press Brake experience
  • Ability to write CNC programs
  • Confident using a range of Press Brake tooling
  • Understanding of H&S and quality standards
Personal Skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good communication
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
