Being a Clinical Unit Manager will mean taking responsibility for a specific part of the home and delivering the very best level of care, and acting as the lead when the Home Manager and Deputy Home Manager are absent. You will ensure resident dignity and wellbeing in all duties, including assessing mobility needs and, when appropriate, facilitating sample collection or administering medication, with a focus on person-centred care.

Responsibilities
  • Take responsibility for a specific part of the home and deliver the best level of care; provide leadership when the Home Manager and Deputy Home Manager are absent.
  • Ensure resident dignity and wellbeing in all actions, including identifying mobility issues and assisting with assessments as required.
  • Administer medications in accordance with policies and oversee related procedures.
  • Advocate and deliver a person-centred approach to care for residents and their families.
  • Model professional behaviours and effective communication, both verbally and in writing.
  • Safeguarding: recognise signs of potential abuse, harm or neglect, report concerns, and undertake safeguarding training as required.
  • Mentor and share knowledge with colleagues; provide support as a practice supervisor and assessor to students.
  • Operate in accordance with NMC standards and maintain compliance with professional practice
Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse with a valid PIN number.
  • Commitment to professional standards and patient safety; ability to mentor and supervise learners.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written; ability to role model professional behaviours.
  • Understanding the importance of safeguarding and the ability to escalate concerns when action is not taken.
