Overview

The University of Sheffield Clinical Psychology Training Programme (in collaboration with Sheffield Health Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust) is seeking an experienced clinical psychologist with an interest in training and developing aspiring clinical psychologists to join the existing programme team as a clinical tutor.

Responsibilities
  • Teach, tutor and support trainees enrolled on the 3‑year DClinPsy programme.
  • Contribute to line management of trainees and other programme activities.
  • Organise and oversee the clinical practice elements of training, ensuring full involvement of clinical supervisors and service managers.
  • Co‑operate with the Director of Clinical Practice and other clinical tutors to manage trainees alongside a dedicated operational manager.
  • Contribute to teaching, tutoring, assessment, selection and supervisor training.
  • Possibly lead an aspect of the programme and/or a development project.
  • Visit and support trainees on placement, travelling within and outside the region as necessary.
Location

The programme base is in the centre of Sheffield, close to public transport links and a 10‑15‑minute walk from Sheffield railway station.

Unit and Partnerships

The course is based within the Clinical and Applied Psychology Unit in the Department of Psychology, with excellent links to surrounding clinical psychology training programmes and practitioners in the region. Trainees and tutors are employed within the Psychological Services directorate of Sheffield Health Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust.

Hours and Salary

Hours: 0.6 WTE permanent or fixed term (some flexibility in hours may be possible, secondment considered)
