Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled and motivated individual to work in the Specialist School Nursing Team.

This is a term time role and the successful candidate will be required to work across all 5 sites if needed, on a 4 day/week roster. Hours of work are 0830-1600.

Responsibilities
  • The SSNT work in 5 specialist provision schools across Calderdale and Kirklees, managing and supporting a caseload of children with medical and nursing needs.
  • Work as part of the Specialist School Nursing Team as a clinical support worker, providing compassionate care to pupils, service users, carers and families.
  • Provide care and support to pupils during the school day to support their medical and nursing needs in school, through direct and indirect care within clearly defined limits and attainment of agreed competence.
  • Be able to work without constant direct supervision using initiative within the level of competence for the post.
Qualifications & Experience
  • We are looking for candidates who have previous experience working with children and families with complex medical and nursing conditions.
  • The children we care for can have long term medical conditions and will require nursing support during the school day to maintain their health and wellbeing.
  • Experience working with children and young people with learning disability is required.
