About the Ward

MacDonald Ward is an acute 28 bedded Complex Care Frailty ward caring for elderly patients. The team is friendly and supportive, with a strong commitment to providing a high standard of care. We are looking for highly motivated, dynamic and passionate Health Care Assistants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide delegated clinical procedures such as removal of cannula.
  • Undertake physiological observations.
  • Escort patients from clinical areas.
  • Provide personal care and accurately document all interventions.
  • Book hospital transport to take patients home.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of GCSE English and Maths grade C or 4, or functional skills for English/Maths.
  • Care Certificate or NVQ2 two in health and social care or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience as a Clinical Support Worker (hospital experience desirable but not essential).
Training & Development

Successful applicants must complete an induction course, which will include all Trust statutory and mandatory training. We provide a supportive atmosphere, mentorship, clinical supervision and are committed to professional development.

Teamwork

You will work as part of a multi‑disciplinary team, using your own initiative and effective interpersonal and communication skills. Team working is integral to this unit, with all staff empowered to make a real difference for patients.
