We are now recruiting for a Clinical Support Lead (CSL) to support within our WCA (Work Capability Assessments) team based in Belfast.

This is a Hybrid role as part of the HAAS Contract at Capita. The Health Assessment Advisory Service (HAAS) arranges and carries out assessments for the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and the Department for Communities (DfC).

The Clinical Support Lead (CSL) will continue to deliver core business requirements as a Disability Analyst while taking on additional responsibilities to support clinical governance, quality assurance, and performance management. This role is pivotal in driving quality, supporting onboarding and training, and ensuring compliance with contractual and regulatory standards. The CSL acts as a role model, promoting excellence and consistency across clinical teams.

What you’ll be doing
  • Provide leadership and clinical support to allocated Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) throughout their onboarding and development journey.
  • Monitor and manage clinical performance, ensuring adherence to quality standards and contractual TPLs.
  • Conduct audits and reviews to identify trends, implement corrective actions, and maintain clinical governance.
  • Deliver coaching, mentoring, and bespoke training sessions to address learning needs and support continuous professional development.
  • Collaborate with training teams and regional managers to ensure smooth onboarding and progression through approval stages.
  • Support complaint management processes, ensuring responses are clinically accurate and aligned with policy.
  • Maintain accurate reporting and dashboards for performance metrics, including quality scores, productivity, and compliance indicators.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives and change management projects to enhance service delivery.
  • Ensure professional practice standards are maintained in accordance with NMC, GMC, and HCPC requirements.
What we’re looking for
Essential Requirements
  • Registered HCP (Doctor, Nurse/MH Nurse, Physiotherapist, or Occupational Therapist) with a minimum of three years post‑registration experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in WCA provision.
  • Strong understanding of clinical governance, audit processes, and performance management.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office Suite; Excel proficiency desirable.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development and adaptability to change.
Desirable
  • Experience in training delivery and coaching.
  • Knowledge of Key Performance Indicator (KPI) management.
  • Ability to influence and inspire team members.
  • Innovative thinking and proactive approach to problem‑solving.
  • Audit, Trainer and Clinical Governance Experience.

You will be required to undergo and successfully gain a BPSS security clearance check in order to undertake this position.

The Health Assessment Advisory Service (HAAS) arranges and carries out assessments for the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and the Department for Communities (DfC). The purpose of the assessment is to understand how an illness or disability affects a person's daily life. After the assessment, the DWP/DfC makes the decision as to whether the individual will receive any benefits. The Health Assessment Advisory Service is delivered on behalf of the DWP & DfC by Capita.
