Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for full and part time Healthcare Assistants to join the team in Acute Medicine at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.

The positions are based on the Acute Medical Unit (AMU) and the Acute Medical Assessment Unit (AAU).

AMU and AAU are fast-paced environments, in which patients are assessed and treated for a variety of medical conditions before being sent home or on to a specialist ward.

We are looking for caring, compassionate individuals who have strong communication and observation skills to deliver excellent patient-focused care in a challenging environment.

We will complete a comprehensive induction programme that will fully prepare you for the role and you will be working in a stimulating and supportive clinical environment with many opportunities for learning and development.

Please note if you don't hold the relevant qualifications as detailed in the person specification, there will be a requirement to sit our simple in house Numeracy and Literacy assessments

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide support and assist Registered Nurses delivering all aspects of health care directly to patients, within defined levels of competence and practice.

This will include assisting in maintaining a suitable environment in which to deliver that care.

Working for your organisation

The Acute Floor the Acute Medical unit (AMU), Acute Medical Assessment (AAU) and Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) which is a seated area for patients who are referred requiring a medical assessment but may go home the same day.

AMU/AMA and SDEC is a fast-paced environment, in which patients are assessed and treated for a variety of medical conditions before being sent home or on to a specialist ward.
