A prominent NHS Trust in England is seeking an enthusiastic Clinical Research Nurse (Band 6) to join their team at the Leicester Diabetes Centre. This part-time role involves providing high-quality patient care in accordance with research protocols and ICH Good Clinical Practice guidelines. The opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Clinical Research Nurse to join the Commercial Research Delivery Centre (CRDC) based at the Leicester Diabetes Centre (LDC) at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust.
The LDC is one of the largest facilities in Europe for conducting first class clinical research in diabetes and other long term health conditions. The CRDC is dedicated to setting up and delivering late phase commercial clinical trials in the NHS at pace and scale. The CRDC Leicester is hosted by the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust and based at Leicester General Hospital. By attracting more commercial research to the UK, we increase opportunities for NHS patients to access cutting edge treatment and therapies that are not yet widely available through the NHS. We work across the region, through our partners and stakeholders, to ensure as many people as possible are given an opportunity to take part in research.
We are looking for a highly motivated, hardworking and enthusiastic candidate to assist in the delivery of a high-quality research service of clinical expertise, in accordance with ICH-GCP guidelines for the conduct of clinical research trials both commercial and academic clinically focused trials.
The post holder will provide the highest standards of patient care in line with research protocols and will ensure that such research safeguards the well‑being of the patients and non‑patients participants and is conducted within ICH Good Clinical Practice guidelines for research.
To work alongside Principal Investigators and the research team to assist in the delivery of a high quality research service of clinical expertise, professional advice, support, guidance and education to the multi‑professional team, patients and carers within the research service. Work will be in accordance with ICH‑GCP guidelines for the conduct of clinical research trials.
The post holder will at all times act in accordance with the NMC Codes of Conduct and Practice, Scope for Professional Practice and all NMC guidelines.
The successful candidate will have at least two years post‑registration experience, demonstrate competency in clinical skills, have the ability to manage their own time and prioritise their own workload. The post requires flexibility and the ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. Basic understanding of research design and methodology is desirable.

About the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust:
This is a part time post, based at Leicester General Hospital. Travel may be required between sites within the Trust and to Primary Care locations within Leicestershire to support departmental activities and there will be a requirement for early/late shifts and weekend work.
