Overview

Clinical Quality and Continuous Improvement Lead. £43,367.45 pa, pro rata • 37.5 hours per week • Location: Morley, Leeds with travel across our geography. This pivotal role establishes and maintains high levels of client support across services. You will lead on monitoring and developing quality and continuous improvement, working with up to 15 managers to review services, record compliance using the Quality Framework, facilitate action plans, and drive improvements. A solid understanding of CQC and other health and social care regulators is essential, along with excellent interpersonal skills to motivate change. You should have a proven track record of delivering high standards of care and involve diverse stakeholders (clients and staff) and experience of investigating incidents. You will also identify training needs, discuss development opportunities and provide support to managers.

Main duties of the job

  • Support awareness and understanding of quality and assurance systems and processes across the organisation.
  • Ensure systems and processes meet regulator requirements for St Anne’s, and help develop quality metrics monitored and reported to the Board.
  • Assess client and tenant care to judge appropriateness of care and promote quality across St Anne’s, including clinical care delivery.
  • Participate in key working groups as requested by the Head of Quality and Continuous Improvement (HOQCI).
  • Support new Managers to understand St Anne’s systems and processes; assist with action plans after Quality and Continuous Improvement audits or CQC audits.
  • Support safety culture development: incident reporting, risk assessment, root cause analysis, and organisational learning from incidents.

Job responsibilities

  • Maintain awareness and understanding of quality and assurance systems across the organisation.
  • Ensure services meet regulator requirements for St Anne’s and support development of quality metrics monitored and reported to the Board.
  • Maintain knowledge of CQC methodology and key regulations to aid services in adherence.
  • Assist HOQCI with developing and iterating quality metrics; monitor and report to the Board.
  • Analyse data to inform decision-making regarding intervention and monitoring of service and care quality.
  • Assess client care and ensure quality care is provided and promoted, including clinical care delivery.
  • Engage in working groups and provide coaching to managers to understand systems and processes.
  • Support managers with action plans following audits; promote safety culture including incident reporting and RCA; foster learning from incidents.
  • Promote continuous improvement, candour and openness; monitor incident reporting and ensure timely investigation and handling of serious incidents.
  • Prioritise incidents/concerns and escalate as needed; coordinate Root Cause Analysis and embedding of learning.
  • Support training and development on incident reporting and client safety; attend meetings related to client safety.
  • Assist HOQCI with quality and safety reports for internal and external use; help prepare for inquests and support families during processes and learning.
  • Coordinate audit processes across services to ensure objectivity and compliance with regulators and inspection regimes.
  • Support handling of complaints, including investigation coordination and ensuring timely responses.
  • Represent the organisation professionally, modelling PROUD values and promoting quality and continuous improvement across services.
  • Commit to personal development and discuss training needs with HOQCI to grow in the role.
