Job summary

A regional healthcare service in Wales is looking for a full-time Band 8a Clinical Psychologist to join a friendly multi-disciplinary team. Your role will include providing clinical duties and supervision while engaging in service developments. Candidates should have a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and experience in mental health settings. Knowledge of Welsh is desirable, but English speakers are also welcome. This position is based at the Preseli Centre, Withybush General Hospital, Haverfordwest.

• Experience in mental health services and working with children and adolescents.
• Ability to provide clinical supervision.
• Desirable ability to speak Welsh.

Overview

The successful applicant will be responsible for the provision of Psychology within the multi-disciplinary team, including the supervision of Assistant Psychologists and Trainee Clinical Psychologists. They will be part of a friendly multi-disciplinary team which values its Psychology colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Clinical duties will include completing Choice, Partnership and Specific work, within the framework of the Mental Health Measure (2010).
• Special interests are encouraged, and there are regularly opportunities to be involved in new service developments and training.
• There are strong links with specialised services within S-CAMHS (e.g. DBT Service, Eating Disorders Service).
• Strong links with the South Wales D Clin Psy Clinical Psychology training course.
• Based in Hywel Dda University Health Board’s S-CAMHS locality teams in Pembrokeshire; post based in the Preseli Centre, Withybush General Hospital, Haverfordwest.

Qualifications and Requirements

• We are looking to recruit a full time Band 8a Clinical Psychologist to one of our busy and friendly S-CAMHS locality teams.
• Welsh language: the ability to speak Welsh is desirable; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
• The locality teams link with specialised services and with colleagues in the primary part of the service. All of the psychologists in S-CAMHS sit within a wider Psychology Department with diverse and supportive colleagues.
• Hywel Dda University Health Board provides NHS services across Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and bordering counties, with a large workforce and a broad range of services.
