The post sits within the non‑psychosis pathway, offering interventions for service users with Complex Emotional Difficulties (including Personality Disorder) and other presentations such as OCD, PTSD, Complex trauma, Severe Depression and Anxieties. We work alongside a range of specialist NHS and third‑sector services, including for those with an eating disorder or First Episode Psychosis.

The successful candidate will be based within an established psychology service. The team is made up of experienced psychologists offering a range of evidence‑based psychological interventions, including CBT, EMDR, DBT, SCM and CAT. You will work alongside committed psychological therapies staff, supported by a dedicated and experienced MDT, with supportive, strong and progressive leadership from senior psychological staff.

Main duties of the job

The main duties involve providing one‑to‑one assessments, therapy and group interventions. Other tasks such as supervision and training will be considered depending on need and experience. You will receive regular supervision and the chance to engage in ongoing continuing professional development.

About us

We aim to attract and retain a diverse, talented and committed workforce who are caring and compassionate, and therefore able to meet the demands of the modern NHS now and in the future. In return we can offer a dynamic working environment in which to build a career.

NHS Employees identified as at risk of compulsory redundancy and those eligible for the NENC Re‑Deployment careers hub will receive prior consideration.

Job responsibilities

Opportunities for the successful applicant include varied work on well‑established intervention pathways, offering appropriate evidence‑based psychological treatments and care, supporting a range of colleagues, and enabling service development. You will work alongside other therapists and MDT colleagues, as part of a Community Mental Health Service at an exciting time of Community Transformation and change in terms of psychological interventions.

There are opportunities for personal development, including through our strong links with local supervisors and training initiatives.
