Are you a passionate, forward-thinking pharmacist ready to make a lasting impact? Aneurin Bevan University Health Board (ABUHB) Pharmacy is thrilled to announce a brand-new Teacher Practitioner role, created in partnership with Cardiff University School of Pharmacy. This is your chance to combine advanced clinical practice with academic influence, shaping the next generation of pharmacists while driving excellence in patient care.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable but not essential for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main Duties Of The Job
  • Help shape the strategic direction of Education and Training at ABUHB and beyond, in consultation with the Education and Training team and Pharmacy Management Team, including organising, evaluating and delivering training and development programmes within Pharmacy Services.
  • Provide clinical leadership and skills in the designated speciality area, supporting the implementation of medicines optimisation strategies, improving patient flow, and delivering service improvements aimed at enhancing patient care and safety.
  • Work across both Cardiff University School of Pharmacy as an honorary lecturer and ABUHB as an advanced clinical pharmacist and education lead, with clinical services including ward‑based care, dispensary sessions and prescribing services at our Royal Gwent Hospital site.
  • Act as a non‑medical prescriber when required, undertaking agreed sessions within sphere of competence, initiating or modifying medication, monitoring therapy and adjusting treatment options.
  • Serve as a professional role model in the field of Pharmacy practice in both organisations, maintaining a consistently high standard of practice in line with the ABUHB Pharmacy Vision.
