The Clinical Nurse Manager will lead the operational management of the Virtual Ward and Acute Hospital at Home team in North to ensure high standards of care delivery, efficient use of resources, and ongoing development aligned with best practice and digital innovations. The post holder will be based at North Devon District Hospital and may work in other areas as directed by the line manager.

For more detail about the main duties of this role, please see the job description section below. As a key member of the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, you will join an exceptional team helping our patients stay healthy when they need it most.

  • An exciting opportunity within Acute Medicine to lead the integrated Acute Hospital at Home team in North Devon, working with the Lead Nurse and the Band 7 Clinical Nurse Manager in Eastern services.
  • Lead the Acute Hospital at Home service, a safe and efficient alternative to bedded care, delivering care in patients’ homes and supporting early discharge or avoidance of hospital admissions.
  • Function as a professional role model and clinical leader, maintaining high standards of clinical practice and visibility in clinical areas.
  • Promote innovative practice, incorporate relevant research findings, develop and review pathways, and drive digital-enabled care (virtual wards) in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Contribute to the development and management of Acute Medicine Ambulatory Care in North, ensuring smooth operation and appropriate utilisation.
  • Develop the service in line with best practice and current national guidelines; lead on service development and improvement as part of expanding the Virtual Ward.
  • Collaborate across organisational boundaries to support integrated care and flexible teamwork.
Working pattern and selection

Working Pattern: Day shifts, 4 days a week. May include weekends at times.
