Clinical Negligence Solicitor - 3+ PQE - Cardiff/ Exeter

Location: Cardiff/ Exeter office
Hours: Full time
Salary: £45,000 to £65,000 DOE
PQE: 3+ years

Chadwick Nott are pleased to be working with a leading national law firm currently seeking an experienced Associate to join their Clinical Negligence team. This is a permanent opportunity available across multiple regional offices, offering high-quality work and excellent career development.

The Role
You will act for a range of defendant clients, including NHS Resolution, managing your own caseload and supporting on complex, high-value claims. Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting clinical negligence claims and providing strategic, commercial advice
  • Managing a varied caseload in line with client expectations and service level agreements
  • Supervising and delegating tasks to junior fee earners
  • Providing secondment support to key clients, both remotely and on-site
  • Undertaking legal research and advising on new legislation and case law
  • Participating in business development and delivering seminars and training


Candidate Requirements
This role is suited to a qualified Solicitor with:

  • At least 3 years' PQE in clinical negligence or catastrophic personal injury
  • Experience with defendant or claimant work; inquest or healthcare advisory experience is a plus
  • Strong technical and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and client care abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to business development
  • Strong organisational skills and time management
