Job description
Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled and confident Physiotherapist to take on a senior clinical and leadership position within our Urgent Care Response and Intermediate Care Teams. You will be responsible for day‑to‑day team operations, caseload oversight, staff support and the delivery of expert rehabilitation for patients with complex needs. This role offers a balance of advanced clinical work, service improvement and professional leadership.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the physiotherapy function across both services, ensuring high‑quality, patient‑centred care.
  • Provide specialist assessment, diagnosis and rehabilitation for complex cases.
  • Oversee physiotherapy staff, caseloads and resources.
  • Support and deputise for senior managers as required.
  • Contribute to service development, clinical standards and evidence‑based practice.
  • Support and develop colleagues through supervision, mentoring and training.
  • Ensure compliance with documentation, governance, audit and CQC requirements.
Qualifications
Essential
  • Physiotherapy degree and HCPC registration.
  • CSP membership.
  • Experience in Urgent Care Response and/or Intermediate Care.
  • Strong clinical experience working with complex rehabilitation and older adults.
  • Experience supporting or supervising junior staff.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and clinical reasoning skills.
  • Confidence with IT systems and digital documentation.
  • Commitment to professional development and evidence‑based practice.
Desirable
  • MSc in management/leadership (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience in service development or policy implementation.
  • Experience delivering training or presenting at conferences.
