A community health service in Castleford is seeking a Clinical Lead GP to oversee high-quality clinical practice and governance. The role requires full GMC registration and a proven ability to manage a diverse primary care caseload. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with CQC standards, leading clinical strategy, and fostering an inclusive environment for staff and patients. We are a small practice service catering to 5,200 patients located in the area of Airedale, Castleford. Our practice is part of a forward‑thinking, well‑functioning Primary Care Network – Wakefield North PCN – and offers a comprehensive range of services supported by a skilled clinical and administrative team.
Our clinical team currently consists of a GP, an in‑house Clinical Pharmacist, an Advanced Nurse Practitioner, a lead Nurse, two Practice Nurses, a Nurse Associate and Health Care Support Assistants. All team members are highly qualified and deliver general and specialist nursing services alongside efficient administrative and management support.
We benefit from enhanced care services, excellent access to Sonographers, Mental Health Practitioners and Pharmacists, and a full infrastructure of support for finance, people and culture, nursing and quality, digital, IT and performance. The Clinical Lead GP will become an integral leader of our effective practice team, demonstrating a passion for high‑quality clinical practice, patient care and continual improvement.
GP with full GMC registration, licence to practise, entry on the GP Register and inclusion on a Medical Performers List (or eligible). Proven ability to handle a busy and varied primary care caseload and respond flexibly to workload fluctuations.
