A regional healthcare trust in Chertsey is looking for a Clinical Fellow in Soft Tissue and Arthroplasty. The role includes Senior Middle Grade responsibilities, managing orthopaedic duties, and participating in the on-call rota. The main duties and responsibilities of the appointee will be to provide Senior Middle Grade cover for all orthopaedic duties, including participating in the on-call rota, and to work with the existing orthopaedic surgeons across both Ashford and St. Peter's Hospitals to provide an efficient and effective orthopaedic service.
Provide inpatients, day case and outpatient care for patients requiring elective and emergency orthopaedic surgery, in accordance with the Trust contractual obligations, and adopt a continuing responsibility for the care of patients in your charge in partnership with other colleagues working in the speciality for the proper function of the department.
Ensure that clinical audit is an ongoing programme and that agreed actions required as indicated from audit are implemented.
The postholder will be one of a team of 16 Middle Grades with sessions at both Ashford and St. Peter's Hospitals. Ashford & St. Peter's Hospitals merged to form a single NHS Trust in 1998. Trauma is primarily carried out on the St. Peter's site. The Ashford site has outpatients and a dedicated orthopaedic ward which is used for joint replacements and other elective surgery.
