Job description

We are seeking a Clinical Fellow for the Oral and Maxillofacial Department. The successful candidate will join our team of 4 Consultant colleagues, 3 WTE Specialty Doctors and junior training grade staff and will have the skills to complement those already practising in the Department.

A wide range of treatments are currently carried out including the management of oro‑facial sepsis, facial trauma, dento‑alveolar surgery, orthognathic surgery, TMJ arthroscopy and arthroplasty, salivary gland disease, head and neck cancer services, oral medicine and the treatment of skin malignancy within the head and neck.

The candidate must have full GDC or GMC registration. This post is not available to temporary registrants. Some experience is desirable in Oral Medicine and in‑patient management and participation in the emergency on call service would be expected.

The post involves both resident and non‑resident 1 in 4 on‑call at 1st on‑call level, with previous experience in emergency OMFS presentations desirable, but not essential, as you will be supported by experienced members of the team.

The main base for this post will be Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy. OMFS is a specialty within the Surgical Directorate which is part of the Acute Services Division.
