A leading health organization in the United Kingdom is inviting applications for the role of Clinical Fellow in Medicine. This position offers training opportunities across various medical specialties, making it ideal for candidates who have completed core medical training. This post would be ideally suited to a candidate who has completed core medical/internal medical training or equivalent and wishes to gain further experience in a medical specialty, education, leadership or quality improvement.
The post responsibilities will be split into two parts, acute medical take responsibilities and non-acute take.
Acute take The postholder will contribute to the 1 in 10 medical registrar on call rota. During on call periods, the postholder will be expected to take a leadership role in the team providing clinical care and management of acute medical admissions.
Non-acute take The postholder will have the opportunity to work clinically within one or more of the aforementioned medical subspecialties according to their intests and experience, contributing to inpatient and outpatient care. Depending on the preferred subspecialty, there may be opportunity to develop or refine procedural competences in line with Royal College of Physicians curricula for medical subspecialties e.g. bronchoscopy, angiograms, endoscopy etc.
Airedale is a small, friendly acute general hospital and community Foundation Trust on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales. It has an excellent reputation for medical staff training and education. We are proud to be an associated teaching hospital of Leeds School of Medicine; we provide clinical placements in a wide range of specialties for doctors in training from foundation to specialist trainee level and we are host employer for the Airedale GP Training Programme.
This post offers the opportunity to work clinically within one or more of the medical subspecialty services within the Trust. These include acute medicine, cardiology, diabetes and endocrinology, gastroenterology, geriatric medicine, haematology, medical microbiology, neurology, oncology, palliative medicine, rehabilitation, respiratory medicine, rheumatology and stroke medicine. There is an on site ICU which is an approved training unit. There is an on site education centre with simulation facilities.
