Job summary

A prominent healthcare provider in Cambridge is seeking a Clinical Fellow Higher in Haematology to provide medical cover and manage patients with haematological disorders. The role offers the opportunity to gain experience in laboratory Haematology and has no on-call commitment. Applications are encouraged from candidates meeting the GMC requirements. Job description
A Vacancy at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

Applications are invited for the post of Clinical Fellow Higher (ST3-5/ST6+) in Haematology to commence 04 February 2026 until 01 September 2026.

This role has no on‑call commitment though there may be an opportunity to participate on the on‑call rota.

Responsibilities
  • Provide medical cover for the Day Unit, Cancer Admissions Unit, inpatient ward, and clinics.
  • Manage patients with haematological malignancies and non‑malignant haematological disorders, including ambulatory care for stem cell transplantation within our Day Unit.
  • Possibility to gain experience in aspects of laboratory Haematology.
Application Requirements
  • Full Registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council at point of application.
  • Demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English, as set out in the GMC’s Good Medical Practice (2013).
  • Non‑UK applicants must hold a valid IELTS/OET exam before obtaining a GMC licence.
  • Applications from candidates who require skilled worker sponsorship to work in the UK are accepted and will be considered alongside other applications.
  • Skilled worker applicants must present a criminal record certificate from each country where they have resided continuously or cumulatively for 12 months or more in the past 10 years; adult dependants over 18 are also required.
Additional Information

Post does not carry Postgraduate Dean’s approval or training recognition, but competencies achieved could be counted towards training time if the postholder joins a Haematology Higher Training rotation.
