A leading healthcare provider in London is hiring a critical care consultant to manage admissions and provide 24/7 support in a busy Emergency Department. Responsibilities include leading a follow-up clinic and participating in QI projects. Candidates should have GMC registration and an MBBS or equivalent, with a background in Medicine, Anaesthesia, Emergency Medicine or Surgery. Experience in critical care is desirable. This position offers various starting dates in 2026.
We provide support and direct admission from our busy Emergency Department (up to 130,000 patients annually) and take complex external referrals. The department runs a 24/7 nurse‑led outreach service and a fortnightly critical care follow‑up clinic. The unit has specialists in long‑term weaning, psychology of critical illness, ARDS, sepsis, infection control, peri‑operative medicine and emergency medicine, and expertise in echocardiography, diagnostic ultrasound, cardiopulmonary exercise testing, and translational research.
Start dates in April 2026 (1 post), May 2026 (1 post) and August 2026 (4 posts). Both 6‑month and 12‑month posts are available.
