Job description

NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.

We are excited to offer this rare opportunity to join DARS Psychological Services for a fixed term contract, which has arisen from an upcoming period of planned leave. We provide a service to people accessing, and working within, the pan-Highland Drug and Alcohol Recovery Service. You will also be part of a wider NHS Highland Psychology Therapies service, with a range of disciplines providing psychology services across Highland.

Training in core psycho-social interventions as they apply to the drug / alcohol and mental health population will be provided, as will regular contact and supervision from the DARS Psychological Services Head of Service. Working in DARS Psychological Services would provide variety in terms of job roles, including clinical work, staff training, supervision, consultation, and service development (e.g. the implementation of the Medically-Assisted Treatment Standards).

We look forward to welcoming applications from creative Clinical Psychologists who enjoy job variety.
