Job description
Overview

Are you an enthusiastic and dedicated CBT Therapist / Counselling Psychologist? Are you looking to progress and develop your clinical and leadership skills within an important new area of service transformation? We are introducing a new programme of psychoeducational group interventions aimed at people with emotional regulation and emotional intensity difficulties. If you feel passionate about service development, addressing the gap between primary and secondary care and wish to expand your clinical leadership skills, this role could be ideal for you, and we would love to hear from you!

This role will involve planning and delivering a variety of online and/or in‑person psychoeducational and therapy groups, including leading a new skills‑based group programme where participants can learn to manage emotional intensity and related behaviours. You will work closely with our Community Mental Health Psychological Therapies (CMHPT) and Mental Health Integrated Community Teams (MHICS). Opportunities to contribute to the wider psychological therapies provision and potentially individual work will be available. You will be part of a dynamic team that values staff wellbeing, and you will be well supported and supervised by a Senior Psychologist. The work base will be in Reading, with a significant proportion of service delivery online.

We have one vacancy for a Senior Clinician. This role can be filled by a Psychological Therapist (CBT) or a Clinical / Counselling Psychologist.

  • Participate in the implementation and development of system‑wide mental health services that will contribute to an improved experience for people with serious mental health problems in primary care.
  • Provide clinical leadership and oversight of the service delivery of the groups aimed at people with emotional intensity difficulties, and oversight of other digital offers for people with emotional regulation difficulties.
  • Supervise and support junior psychological staff in the facilitation of psychoeducational groups.
