Job description
Clinical Coding & Data Quality Supervisor

Band 6, Full Time, Permanent

Clinical Coding & Data Quality (DQ) Services is looking for an experienced Clinical Coding & Data Quality Supervisor with a 20% Recruitment and Retention Premium (RRP) to join our friendly department at Croydon University Hospital, Croydon.

Responsibilities
  • Manage Clinical Coding and Data Quality team staff.
  • Ensure consistent and accurate coding according to recognised coding methods and meet agreed time scales.
  • Support the Trust business requirements and effective patient care.
  • Work closely with Data Quality Officers to provide data quality and correction support and highlight data quality issues raised by the Clinical Coding team to all Trust stakeholders.
  • Assist the Clinical Coding Audit Manager and fellow Supervisors in dealing with queries on Outpatient Coding and OP coding processes.
  • Liaise with Consultants and Clinicians regarding coding queries and clinical documentation.
  • Coordinate recruitment and retention activities as per the 20% RRP programme.
Qualifications
  • National Clinical Coding Qualification (NCCQ) and proven experience coding across all specialties.
  • Good leadership, management and communication skills; strong team player.
  • Experience liaising with consultants and clinicians regarding coding queries and clinical documentation.
  • Experience managing or supervising clinical coding staff.
