Clinical Coder & Administration (carrying out the day to day coding of clinical documentation)
The following are the core responsibilitiesof the Coder & Administration.There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks.
Accuratelyclinically coding data on the clinical system into the patient record
Identifyingrelevant clinical information documented in patient correspondence, codingappropriately and completing any detailed action
Inputtingand extracting data as required to support practice reports
Filingand storing records as required
Photocopyingdocumentation as required
Actioningall incoming correspondence, emails and mail in a timely manner.
Scanningpatient related documentation and attaching scanned documents to patientshealthcare records. Inputtingdata into patients healthcare records as necessary
Answeringincoming telephone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callersrequest appropriately
Carryingout system searches as requested
Supportingthe recall team that manages Long Term conditions review system
SecondaryresponsibilitiesIn addition to the primary responsibilities,the Clinical Coder may be requested to:
Reviewand update the practice coding policy as required (in conjunction with the SeniorGP Partner
Partakein audit as directed by the audit lead
