Job summary

A modern accounting firm in the UK is seeking a Client Bookkeeper to manage client bookkeeping using Xero and Freeagent, handle VAT returns, and support clients. This position offers flexibility with a hybrid working model, ideal for both full and part-time candidates. Previous experience in accountancy is preferred but not essential.

Qualifications

• Experience working within an accounting firm or bookkeeping bureau is a plus.
• Strong double-entry bookkeeping experience is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Manage client bookkeeping using Xero & Freeagent software.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly VAT returns.
• Handle CIS returns and perform reconciliations.
• Liaise with clients for additional information and answer queries.

Job description

A fantastic opportunity to join a friendly, modern firm of Accountants seeking a new Client Bookkeeper to join their Bookkeeping department. Working with a wide portfolio of varied clients, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Client bookkeeping using Xero & Freeeagent software
• Monthly / quarterly VAT returns
• CIS returns
• Reconciliations
• Liaising with clients as needed to request further information / documents
• Answering client bookkeeping queries
• Assisting other departments as needed / offering support to other members of the team

The firm can consider both full or part-time candidates, ideally circa 25 hours a week an upwards. The firm offers hybrid working with a split of circa 60% in office, 40% from home. Previous experience working within a firm of Accountants or bookkeeping bureau would be highly beneficial, but not essential as the firm can consider a strong double-entry bookkeeper with good experience.
