Role and responsibilities
  • The Governing Body of Fynamore Primary School is looking to appoint a Clerk to the Governors to work effectively with the Chair of Governors, the Headteacher and the Governing Body. A professional clerk is pivotal to the efficient and effective functioning of our board and its committees. Duties include providing administrative and organisational support; providing information and guidance to ensure that the board works in compliance with the appropriate legal and regulatory frameworks; and providing advice on procedural matters relating to the operation of the board.
  • You should be organised with the ability to take accurate notes of meetings and produce well-presented minutes for distribution. You will also collate and distribute agendas and associated documentation in advance of meetings, keep accurate records, and attend relevant training events. Professional development will be available.
  • The post holder will be required to work approximately 4 hours per week term-time only (38 weeks per year). The hours worked each month will vary dependent on Governing Body business. A flexible approach to working hours will be required to ensure availability for work at times convenient to the Governing Body, including attendance at evening meetings. Access to a computer and printer is essential to carry out the requirements of this role.
