Job description

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Clerk of Works to support our housing association with a range of construction, maintenance, and refurbishment projects across the Isle of Arran, with occasional work in west of Scotland.

This role is ideal for someone with strong technical expertise, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to ensuring high-quality standards across all stages of construction and repair works. You will act as our on-site representative, ensuring contractors meet specifications, health & safety requirements, and agreed quality benchmarks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and inspect works on site to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and standards.
  • Record progress, quality issues, and site conditions, producing clear written reports.
  • Liaise closely with contractors, consultants, and internal teams to address issues promptly.
  • Advise on construction quality, materials, workmanship, and potential risks.
  • Support defect inspections and snagging at project handover.
  • Promote a culture of safety and good practice.
