An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our day service team in providing clerical assistance and support to management and staff.

Requirements

This post is considered to be a ‘Regulated Role’ under the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020. Under the Act it is a legal requirement for an individual undertaking a regulated role with children or protected adults to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme. Therefore the successful candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check prior to any formal offer of employment being made by Moray Council.

Responsibilities

Provide an effective and efficient clerical support service to the manager and staff.

Provide a reception service.

Budget control and other financial functions.

Maintain and create databases for monitoring purposes, annual leave entitlement, sick absences, etc.

Pro-active in all aspects of recruitment processes.

The Individual

Experience of using relevant technology and equipment e.g. photocopier, E-mail, Intra/internet

Significant clerical/administration/typing experience

Experience of utilising a range of computer packages including Microsoft Office, Excel and Access

4 SQA National 5’s or equivalent at level 3 or above inc English Recognised word processing qualification.

Ability to use initiative when required.

A flexible approach to work and an ability to work under pressure.

Effective interpersonal skills both oral and written.

Ability to record information accurately.

Self-confident and self-motivated.

Effective customer care skills and focus.

Ability to work to deadlines and prioritise workload

An ability to meet set standards and agreed targets.

Proficiency in a wide range of clerical and administrative tasks.
