Overview

Cleaning Supervisor – Stevenage, Full time.

Role details: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 06:00am – 14:30pm. Salary: £29,000 per annum. 28 days holiday increasing to 33 days with service (including bank holidays). Opportunities for professional development. Plus our Sodexo employee benefits package. A driving licence is required as travel to other sites may be needed.

Note: This role involves managing a team of housekeeping operatives and a small Lab Support team.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of six to ten housekeeping operatives and oversee administration of general cleaning services and a small Lab Support team.
  • Ensure adherence to Sodexo’s zero-harm culture; perform safety checks, investigations, safety walks, and upload data into the Salus safety management system.
  • Address unsafe acts or behaviours through appropriate channels, upholding the Zero Harm and 3 Checks for Safety values.
  • Ensure general housekeeping and laboratory cleaning meet client specifications and SOPs.
  • Maintain a professional and positive working culture within the team.
  • Manage HR tasks for the team (sickness, recruitment, leavers), and coordinate training including GREAT Training, e-learning, and MyLearning requirements.
  • Stock control and resource planning, including holiday cover.
  • Stakeholder management and staff training/performance reviews.
  • HR processes, including conduct and absence management.
What we're looking for
  • Leadership and people management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of COSHH and awareness of laboratory health and safety procedures.
  • Knowledge of HR policy and processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience in customer services or a customer-facing environment.
  • Computer literacy (virtual meetings/Teams).
  • Ability to chair and facilitate meetings.
