Classroom Cover Supervisor

Hours: Full or Part-time

Contract: Fixed term until July 2026 in the first instance

Salary: National Joint Council Pay Spine Point 12 (£28,598 per annum pro rata)

About the Role

Are you a confident, adaptable individual looking for a fulfilling role within a secondary school which has consistently demonstrated outstanding academic achievement, most recently being ranked among the top 10 schools in the East Midlands by the Sunday Times Parent Power guide? The school is seeking a dedicated Classroom Cover Supervisor to provide essential support to their teaching staff and ensure continuity of learning for their students.

Your primary responsibility will be to supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of the Class Teacher, ensuring that students remain on task and behaviour is managed in line with their policies. You will deliver pre-prepared lessons across a wide range of subjects across Key Stages 3 and 4. Your key responsibilities will be as outlined in the job description.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A good standard of education, ideally to degree level or equivalent.
  • Previous experience of working with young people is highly desirable.
  • The ability to manage behaviour firmly and fairly, with confidence and authority.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the resilience to adapt to different classroom situations.
  • Excellent organisational skills and a proactive approach.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Salary Details

Salary will be paid at National Joint Council point 12 (£28,598) per annum, pro rata. Example of term-time plus INSET days pro-rated salary, working for 32.5 hours per week, from 8:40am until 3:40pm, as below:
