Overview

Prospero Teaching is looking for a Classroom Assistant to join a school in Brixton, South West London. The school is a popular mainstream Primary School with a supportive senior leadership team, and it is providing training to all staff. Depending on performance, the school would look at either extending the contract or offering a permanent position.

Location: Brixton, SW2. Type of work: Classroom Assistant – assisting the teacher and helping prepare lessons. Position: Classroom Assistant. Start date: September 2025. Duration: Until the end of the academic year July 2025, with possible ongoing extension. Contract type: Temporary Contract. Hours: 8:30 am – 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday (term time only).

Responsibilities
  • Support the class teacher with daily lesson delivery and classroom management.
  • Assist with preparing and organising teaching resources for lessons.
Experience, Training and Qualifications
  • Minimum 1 year Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2 experience in the UK.
  • Up-to-date safeguarding training issued in the last year.
Eligibility
  • Hold Right to Work in the UK.
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application.
  • Provide two professional child-related references covering at least the last two years.
