Class 2 HGV Driver - Multi Drop Driver

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

Location: Purfleet, Essex

Salary: £39,000 to £42,000 per year plus overtime at £18.00 p/h after 11 hours per day

As part of your employment, we will pay for and train you in gaining your ADR in packages certification.

The work is consistent – it is a full‑time, permanent job with weekly pay and your own allocated truck.

Each truck is an automatic Volvo or DAF, and is valeted before a new driver receives it.

About the Role

This HGV Driver role involves working directly for our customer, on contract. Our customer will be your point of contact for all operational work, but we are your point of contact for any issues with the truck or the customer’s requests.

We are looking for experienced multi‑drop drivers ONLY. These roles are independent and ideal for drivers who like to think for themselves. London driving will be a part of this job.

Requirements

• You must ensure you secure all pallets, and your tachograph and vehicle checks are legal each day.
• This logistics role is based on 11‑hour days with 5/6 am starts, Monday through Friday, with no nights out.
• Some days you may work 9‑10 hours; if you work over 11 hours you receive overtime pay.
• If you return to the depot after completing your run and the customer asks you to do additional work within your 11‑hour window, you will be expected to carry it out.
• Communication is key – preparation of routing and load positioning is essential to achieving the workload with minimal disruption.
• Preparation involves putting your card in, completing walk‑round checks, getting consignments for the day from the office, checking the load against consignment notes, securing the load as necessary, and then commencing driving.
