Job description

Manpower is currently recruiting for Class 1 HGV drivers to work on behalf of a national food and drinks logistics distribution client. This work is primarily ad hoc to cover holidays and sickness, but full-time options are available for those seeking more permanent roles.

What you'll do on a typical day:

  1. Carry out a maximum of two deliveries per day to customer delivery points, following all relevant store and non-store delivery procedures as per company and customer policies.
  2. Potentially drop and swap trailers.
  3. Maintain high standards of hygiene and housekeeping within the depot, vehicle, and trailer.
  4. Regularly inspect the vehicle for defects and wear and tear, reporting issues promptly for maintenance.
  5. Accurately complete all necessary paperwork within the given time frame, ensuring compliance with regulations.

What you need to succeed with our client:

  1. A full UK driving licence with C+E category, with at least 2 years' experience.
  2. Less than six points on your licence, with no DD, DR, DG, BA, CD, AC, LC, or TT endorsements.
  3. An up-to-date CPC and Digital Tachograph.
  4. Excellent communication skills and ability to work on your initiative.
  5. Ability to pass an onsite assessment prior to start.
