Job Description:

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Provide management support on projects across the business, in the design and optioneering phases, to develop initial client concept designs or requirements into workable solutions.
  • Liaise with internal and external clients to identify their exact requirements.
  • Attend site-based surveys to understand the needs of a given project, including meeting client representatives as well as gathering information and data to inform the optimum design solution.
  • Prepare Civil / Structural design calculations as applicable.
  • Carry out Civil / Structural surveys to identify and advise on any potential issues.
  • Work with minimal supervision, you will be able to manage your own projects from design through to completion.
  • Supervise the production of design drawings by the CAD / BIM team in line with the project programme.
  • Have strong communication skills and be personable to complement the friendly working environment.
  • Deliver technical quality and excellence of project deliverables.
  • Adhere to CDM Regulations 2015, including carrying out Design Risk Assessments.
  • Attend and support our site teams during the Construction Phase, with TQ’s, advice and problem solving.

To be considered for this position you will have at least 2-3 years previous design experience ideally within a civil engineering or construction environment, the ideal candidate will have a good understanding of structural theory, with proven problem-solving ability as well as good all-round technical design expertise using British and/or Eurocodes. An Accredited degree in Civil Engineering or similar would be beneficial for this role.
