Overview

We are seeking an outstanding Civils Manager to take on this construction solution sales and sales management role, this company manufacturers products that are sold into the construction industry. This role covers managing a small sales team and dealing with sales and business development.

This role is mainly office based (Ballymena), with some trips out of office to clients.

The Ideal Person
  • Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 2-3+ years of Civils or Sales management.
  • Strong sales and estimating experience in the civil engineering/construction sector.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and bar schedules.
  • AutoCAD/Revit experience
Responsibilities
  • Drive sales performance and achieve revenue targets in the civil engineering and construction materials sector.
  • Manage the sales team.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and key stakeholders within the civil engineering industry.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities, expanding the customer base and strengthening the company's position in the market.
  • Provide precise cost estimates for civil engineering and construction projects to support competitive and profitable tender submissions.
  • Lead the bid and tendering process to secure new projects, ensuring all submissions align with client requirements and company standards (supported by bid team).
  • Ensure clarity and efficiency in the estimating and bidding processes.
  • Support business development by identifying trends, opportunities, and strategies to enhance the company's market position.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of civil engineering products, solutions, and services to effectively communicate benefits to clients.
  • Prepare and deliver accurate quotes, bids, and proposals in response to client inquiries and project requirements.
  • Lead contract negotiations and ensure favourable terms while maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Provide post-sale support to ensure client satisfaction and resolve any issues promptly.
  • Regularly report on sales performance, market insights, and forecasts to line Manager.
  • Lead, motivate, and train sales teams to achieve goals, ensuring alignment with the company's vision.
  • Ensure all sales activities comply with industry regulations and company policies. Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing and reliable service.
  • To participate in continuous improvement and problem-solving initiatives.
  • Deputise as needed for the Head of Sales & Marketing
  • Any other duties, within reason and capability, as agreed through consultation with the Head of Sales & Marketing
