Qualifications

  • Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is essential.
  • 5+ years in Structural Work is required.
  • Experience in 3D BIM Rebar Modelling is critical.
  • Expertise in Reinforced Concrete is necessary.
  • Familiarity with Eurocodes and relevant codes is expected.
  • Previous experience in the nuclear sector is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Modify structural designs to comply with relevant codes.
  • Check and coordinate with CAD designers on detailing activities.
  • Manage engineering changes per project procedures.
  • Liaise with stakeholders for site request clarifications.
  • Review and accept contractor deliverables.

Overview

Looking for an exciting opportunity in the nuclear industry for Hinkley Point C Project or Sizewell C Project? This offer is made for you! We are seeking talented engineers who want to work on the biggest projects and are not afraid of new challenges.

EXPERTISE

We are seeking enthusiastic Engineers with a drive to work on the design and construction of the Hinkley Point C (HPC) nuclear new build power plant, currently one of the world’s largest construction projects.

This is a great way to be exposed to the latest technology and digital construction methods with 3D BIM rebar modelling in TEKLA on such a large industrial project.

You will be part of a site design team of civil engineers, BIM coordinator and draftsmen working on the most complicated RC structures of Nuclear Island buildings in the Hinkley Point C project (in particular, Reactor buildings, Fuel building, Safeguard buildings). You will work with senior engineer building pilot, chief draftsman and drafting team to answer to construction team requests.

Responsibilities
  • Modifying reinforced concrete or steel structure designs compliant with the ETC-C or other relevant codes (Eurocodes) and project methodology
  • Checking and coordinating the detailing activities with CAD designers or other engineers in preparation of 3D BIM rebar model and / or 2D drawings of reinforced concrete or steels structure
  • Managing engineering changes in line with company / project procedures and QA process
  • Liaising with other stakeholders of site engineering team or construction team for clarification on the site request
  • Liaising with the office team for clarification on design package or for closing out of design package issues
  • Technical review and acceptance of contractor deliverables
  • Site Walkdowns and inspection
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • At least 5 years of experience in Structural Work
  • 3D BIM Rebar Modelling
  • Experience with Reinforced Concrete
  • Experience in TEKLA, Eurocodes, REVIT, Navisworks
  • Design and Site Experience
  • Previous experience of the nuclear industry sector or other highly heavy industry sectors
  • Working knowledge of the detailed design phases and how this is transitioned to the construction phase
  • Responsibility for schedule for engineering tasks reporting to the management, scheduling and commercial requirements
  • Working with contractors on site to deliver the implementation of engineering solutions
Additional information

This role will require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance.
