Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 (Dependent on Experience)
Bennett & Game are proud to be supporting a well-established regional civil engineering and utilities contractor with Design & Build capability. Operating across Yorkshire and Humberside, our client delivers high‑quality infrastructure and water sector projects for private developers, local authorities, water companies, and major blue‑chip clients. Due to ongoing growth within their Yorkshire Water Framework, they are seeking a Civil Design Engineer to join their integrated engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate civil and drainage design activities in line with client specifications and industry standards.
- Produce design solutions across all project stages, including drawings, specifications, reports, calculations and cost estimates.
- Attend client meetings, contribute to technical discussions, and check design work produced by peers.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure fully integrated and accurate design outputs.
- Support programming, commercial management, and project audits.
- Keep up to date with the latest industry technologies and attend engineering expos where required.
- Provide guidance to junior engineers, technicians and apprentices.
- Assist in resolving technical issues and maintaining strong client relationships.
- Promote excellent Health & Safety practices and lead by example across office and site environments.
- Ensure design work aligns with ISO 9001, ISO 19650 and ISO 14001 quality and environmental management systems.

Person Requirements
- Degree‑qualified Civil Engineer, ideally Chartered or working toward professional accreditation (ICE or equivalent).
- Experience in UK water sector design, including drainage, clean water, wastewater and treatment processes.
- Strong understanding of UK Water Industry standards and Sewer Sector Guidance. Proficiency in design software such as InfoDrainage, AutoCAD, Revit and Civils 3D; BIM integration experience advantageous.
- Solid grounding in hydraulic design principles, with the ability to undertake manual calculations where required; hydraulic profiling would be beneficial.
- Ability to design slabs, concrete hardstandings and associated civil structures.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn, develop and embrace new technologies.
- Full UK driving licence.
