Working closely with partners across the council and external organisations, we deliver high-quality, responsive services that embrace digital solutions and promote independence and wellbeing. If you want to make a real difference in people’s lives while contributing to a modern, forward-thinking city, this is the team for you.

About The Role

The telecare service assists the residents of Southampton to live safe, healthy, and independent lives and it is one of the first considerations for people who are in need of support and care in the community.

  • A Team of Responding Officers who go out and visit people in their own homes in response to emergency telecare alarm activations.
  • Handle emergency out of hours’ telephone calls on behalf of the City Council, dealing with housing repairs, highways issues and many other vital City Council services.

The post holder will be responsible for supervising all staff working within the team, primarily working normal office hours Monday to Friday, but with the willingness to work outside of these hours occasionally, in line with the needs of the service. Flexibility is essential in this role as the number one priority is continuity of service, and there may be occasions where the post holder is required to carry out front line operational duties in order to ensure business continuity.
