Overview

The festive season at Boots is one of our most exciting and important times of the year. As a Christmas Customer Assistant, you will be at the heart of the action, greeting customers with a smile, offering product and gift advice, and creating a memorable shopping experience that encourages repeat visits.

This is a temporary contract with the potential for a permanent role later depending on local opportunities.

About the role

You will work in a Boots store, reporting to the Assistant or Store Manager. Your responsibilities include:

  • Customer Interaction: Offer thoughtful advice, recommend products and highlight offers to ensure a positive shopping experience.
  • Till Operation: Handle purchases at the counter or support self-checkout with energy and efficiency.
  • Stock Management: Keep shelves full so customers can find what they need during the busiest season.
  • Store Presentation: Ensure every area looks its best.
  • Online order support: Assist with deliveries, picking, and packing for online orders as needed.
What you'll need to have

Full training is provided. Essential skills/experience include:

  • Available to work Bank Holidays including Black Friday week and weekend, Cyber Monday, Christmas Eve, Boxing Day, New Year’s Day.
  • Customer Service Skills: Comfortable approaching customers and providing a personalised experience.
  • Operations Ready: Able to balance customer care with daily shopfloor and operational tasks.
  • Tech-Savvy: Ability to learn and use new technology, including handheld devices, tills and self-checkouts.
  • Team Player: Collaborative, one-team mindset to help achieve store goals and have fun.
  • Physical Stamina: On your feet, standing, walking and lifting; stay busy and active.
  • Brand Ambassador: Enthusiasm for Boots ethos, products and services.
Desirable experience

Experience in retail or customer-facing roles and familiarity with Boots products and services are welcome but not essential.
