Childcare Assistant – Part Time & Full Time – Rural Incentive Payment Available

Brinsbury First Steps Childcare Group is looking for enthusiastic and flexible Childcare Assistants to support young babies through to children ready to start school. You will share your love for learning, support children’s development and learning journeys, and work with a dedicated team to ensure children are learning, socialising, exploring and having fun.

Part‑time and full‑time roles are available (up to 37 hours per week). Pro‑rata salary is £24,434.80 – £24,819.60 per annum. A rural incentive payment of £1,000 will be paid on completion of the probationary period for staff new to First Steps Childcare Group.

First Steps Brinsbury is located on the Brinsbury College campus, a rural campus with a farm track, orchard, stream and more – making the nursery a highly sought‑after place to work. The nursery is open 51 weeks of the year, with core opening hours of 7.30am to 6.00pm, closed only for Bank Holidays and the period between Christmas and New Year.

  • Recognised Level 2 and/or Level 3 (or equivalent) qualification in Early Years, Care and Education.
  • Previous experience of working in a childcare setting.
  • Desirable: First Aid certificate.
  • Full DBS check required (enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service).  An offence to apply if barred from regulated activity involving children.
