Job description

We are currently for a Chief Information Officer to join a company in Birmingham, B9.

Main duties for the Chief Information Officer role :
  • Manage day-to-day IT operations across the business
  • Ensure systems, networks, and devices run securely and efficiently
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all IT-related issues and improvement
  • Maintain and support networks, servers, and cloud services (e.g., Microsoft 365)
  • Oversee hardware, software, and license management
  • Deliver hands‑on 1st–3rd line support to users
  • Manage backups, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes
  • Lead small‑scale IT projects (upgrades, migrations, new systems)
  • Liaise with third‑party suppliers and software vendors
  • Experience with cloud migrations or VoIP systems
  • Updating design software’s with latest versions, margins and catalogues
  • PDQ card machine management – Annual PCI DSS Compliance
  • Active Directory and Group Policy administration
  • Install & configure a wide range of hardware (including printers, phones, laptops, biometric clocking systems)
  • Global administration with Office 365 Enterprise E3
  • Occasional working out of hours for system configuration and update
  • Print management, setup, install and diagnose
  • Oversee day-to-day ERP operations and system performance
  • Lead configuration, enhancement, and rollout of ERP modules (e.g., finance, inventory, production, HR, sales)
  • Work with departments to analyse processes and define system requirements
  • Manage change requests, updates, integrations, and release cycles
  • Maintain data integrity, security, and user access controls
  • Coordinate with external vendors, implementation partners, and support providers
  • Develop and maintain system documentation, workflows
  • Deliver user training, onboarding, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Monitor and report on ERP usage, performance metrics, and adoption
  • Support integration with third‑party applications (e.g., CRM, BI)
  • Updating pricing files where required
  • Support sale staff with issues and corrections within the system
  • Update system to latest versions
