A global engineering firm is seeking a Chief Architect for a 6-month contract based in Bath. This role involves influencing architectural direction in cloud, data, applications, and security, while working hands-on with modern technologies like Azure and AI. Ideal candidates will have extensive enterprise architecture experience, enjoy solving complex technical challenges, and possess the ability to work closely with engineering and product teams. The role is hybrid with 2 days a week in Bath and is inside IR35.

Chief Architect – 6-Month Contract

📍 2 days a week in Bath | Inside IR35

💷 £1000–£1200 / day

I’m working with a global engineering business that’s kicking off a major digital transformation, and they’re looking for a strong, technically minded Chief Architect to help shape what their future tech landscape looks like.

This is a role for someone who still enjoys the tech — not just the slides. You’ll set the architectural direction across cloud, data, applications and security, while getting stuck into real design decisions and working closely with engineering and product teams.

You’ll be working with a modern stack including Azure, D365, analytics, AI / ML and IoT, and helping the business move towards a more scalable, integrated, future‑ready architecture.

They’re looking for someone who :
