Job description

Title: Site Chemist

Location: Greater Manchester

Salary: £30,000-£35,000

SRG are working with a leading privately owned large waste management company who are now looking for 2 Site Chemists to join the team. This is a hands‑on role within the waste industry, you will be analysing, checking and testing incoming loads, processing hazardous and non‑hazardous waste, insuring segregation and storage of hazardous waste meets requirements, labelling waste and completing documents on all incoming and outgoing chemical materials. This role would suit experienced waste chemists with 2+ years of experience.

Working Hours: 40 hour week – Monday to Friday, flexible start and finish times, 25 days holiday + bank holidays

Role / Description
  • Asses, segregate and batch up waste
  • Provide laboratory and analytical support for all site operations
  • Analysing and test all incoming waste and outgoing waste streams
  • Ensure all waste is correctly labelled and documented
  • Contribute to site health and safety standards by using the correct PPE at all times
  • Work closely with site operatives to ensure the safe and efficient processing, storage, and transfer of waste
  • Co‑operate with site management in improving the plants operational standards
