Chef Manager - Winnersh

Monday to Friday role!

£28,943 per annum

Are you a passionate foodie leader ready to take ownership of a thriving workplace kitchen? Do you bring both culinary creativity and operational precision to the table? If you're ready to lead from the front, build strong client relationships, and deliver an exceptional food experience every day - this could be your perfect next step.

Responsibilities
  • Full responsibility for menu planning and food production - breakfast, lunch, and hospitality
  • Create weekly menus using Compass\' Source platform and manage all stock ordering and supplier processes
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with senior-level clients, delivering consistently high service
  • Lead, coach, and manage the on-site catering team to achieve performance and service goals
  • Ensure compliance in all areas: HR processes, HSE (Health & Safety), Profit Protection, PCI, Food Safety, GP (target 40%)
  • Monitor and control stock, wastage, labour costs, and Did We Make You Smile (DWMYS) 10% monthly target
  • Take ownership of weekly Nexus accounts, stock takes, and compliance reporting
  • Drive the food and customer service offer forward - raise the bar in line with Compass and client expectations
  • Ensure everyday HSE standards are not only met but exceeded
Ideal Candidate & Experience
  • A hands-on Chef Manager with strong culinary skills and kitchen leadership experience
  • Background in B&I contract catering with a proven track record of achieving gross profit targets
  • Confident in building relationships at all levels, especially with senior corporate clients
  • Deep understanding of HACCP, Food Safety, Health & Safety, Natasha\'s Law, Allergens, and Manual Handling
  • Experience managing stock, wastage, and ordering systems
  • Able to motivate, lead, and develop a team while staying calm under pressure
  • Tech-savvy - confident using systems like Nexus and Source for menu planning and compliance
